Not the best photographs but the butterfly is still striking and unmistakable.
The Red Pierrot's distribution in India is supposed to be split between Peninsular India (south of Mumbai)
and the North-East (east of Orissa). It is not included in the Delhi checklist of Torben Larsen (2002).
Yet in the last few years it has been visible for most of the year in
south Delhi. In the 2008 monsoon I first started seeing it in North Delhi and it has since been quite
common here also.
